Graduation!

We have officially graduated from child birth class! Here is the diploma to prove it! With this piece of paper we are ready for anything parenting can throw at us. I know our little girl needs to be wiped front to back, melis knows how to candle breathe (which solves everything), and all we need to do is sleep when she sleeps - we should be all set. And here are our versions of some maternity shots. We went on a little tour of some of our favorite places so our little girl has a record of it!

Tammy & John - Engagement photos on the roof of a parking garage??

Who says parking garages do not conjure up notions of love and romance? I think we could have photographed Tammy & John anywhere with the same results - great photos! They were all smiles. John just finished the Fire Academy and he's marrying Tammy - you think he's happy?? This rooftop garden is amazing - nobody goes there. We had the whole place to ourselves after a few stragglers left once they saw the 70-200 come out. Crazy, warm light and smiles - a perfect mix for a photographer!

Victoria & Mike - Engagement photos at the Arnold Arboretum

The sign at the gate had a list of things you couldn't do but it did NOT say "Do not take engagement photos" - so we did!
What a great place to visit! We pretty much walked around the entire park taking photos anywhere we saw color and possibility (and benches...) Victoria and Mike will have some amazing images for the engagement book their guests will get to sign. Look how romantic these two are!

Linda & Eddy - Engagement photos in Onset

The weather was amazing and so was the location! Linda and Eddy took us on a tour of Onset as the sun was setting. We also took some shots on the same beach that their wedding will be on in about a month. They are so easy going and fun - we can't wait for the wedding. In the meantime enjoy some photos from the engagement session.

Facebook Wedding Photo Album

Do you use Facebook? You should! What an easy way to network and keep in touch with friends and family. I created a new wedding photo album (each album is limited to 60 photos) that contains some favorite photos from each of the many weddings we have photographed over the past few years. It's a great way to see our work over many weddings. If you are a new bride interested in seeing more of our photos or a past bride looking to see what our favorite photo is from your wedding then visit this link: kjeldm photography facebook wedding album

Kate & Brendan - An Indian Pond Wedding

Weddings at Indian Pond Country Club are amazing! The place is beautiful with plenty of space for all kinds of wedding fun. We knew Kate & Brendan's wedding would be different - they were the ones who jumped off the Union Street Bridge into the North River for their engagement photos! They had an acapella group during the cocktail hour. They had a photo booth for guests during the reception from Boston Photobooth Rental which was a huge hit! They also had the incredible band "Flipside" to keep everyone on the dance floor. It was a night to remember. Hopefully these photos will help! And after you watch the slideshow don't miss all five 360 degree panoramic photos during the night here. Once there, click and drag the image to spin around! Enjoy:

Kate & Macky - A Red Lion Inn Wedding

What a perfect February day for a wedding in Cohasset! From the gorgeous dress, the beautiful flowers by Rhapsody in Bloom, the music during the ceremony, the great speeches, and the DJ from NY - everything was amazing. Even the DJ's speakers were "Mackie" brand! We had fun shooting Kate & Macky's engagements in Cohasset and even more fun at their wedding. Kate walked down the aisle to "Feeling Good" (the song in this slideshow) and then they both walked out to "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" - a nice touch to mix it up a little. DJ Eliot Wilson brought a little Brooklyn action to New England and kept the floor packed all night. We will add the wedding photos to the engagement session album online at Pictage soon! Enjoy the slide show:

Rusty and Cooper - Cat vs Dog

Who needs the UFC?? I could watch these guys go at it all day! Melissa's sister's family have a cat and a dog that wrestle and chase each other all the time. Here's one of many title bouts:

South Shore Living and Cape Cod Magazine features

South Shore Living magazine and Cape Cod Magazine have a special wedding section in their current issues. And we have 2 weddings featured! They do a great job designing and laying out the articles and it makes our work look even better. Nicole & Brian and Carmel & Wayne both had amazing weddings in Cohasset. Nicole and Brian had their reception at the Red Lion Inn. Carmel & Wayne had theirs at Atlantica. The south shore has so many incredible locations for receptions. We are grateful and we love getting featured - especially for the couples - it's another memory they can hold on to and show their kids!

Keryn & Dan - the engagements

Keryn and Dan had a great idea for their wedding. Most of their families live in the same neighborhood so they wanted to include the street signs in photos and then use them as table numbers at the wedding! Very cool. So we are always looking for unique ideas and we decided to take the photos of the signs with Keryn and Dan in the background doing something different in all the shots. It was tricky - some of those street signs are high! We brought a ladder and actually had to stand it up in the back of our Ridgeline to get high enough. We also went down to the sea wall for some skyline photos. The shots came out great and we had some fun coming up with different ideas. Enjoy some of the shots:

baby christopher!

Mariessa and her new son Christopher visited us at our studio yesterday. We shot Mariessa & Jim's wedding on Martha's Vineyard in June 2006. It was an amazing wedding! We didn't have a blog back then but it would have been a great post. But not as good as meeting Christopher! One of the cutest kids I have seen. He was all smiles so I had to run and get the camera. Look how handsome this guy is! I threw in a few shots from the wedding also (below the slideshow)...

Carrie & Mike - A New Year's Eve wedding at the Sheraton Framingham

Happy New Year! We rang in 2008 with Carrie, Mike and their family and friends at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel. It was a fantastic New Year's Eve wedding! We were honored to have our first photo taken in 2008 to be of them kissing at midnight! Check out the custom fabricated arbor - Mike has some skills that will come in handy later on in married life...

Meghan & Ryan - The Red Lion Inn, Cohasset

We love weddings at the Red Lion Inn! Meghan and Ryan had a great one. It was classic New England winter wedding in late December. Meaning it was freezing outside! Everyone managed to stay warm by dancing all night. We were also joined by our second shooter Kelly Hike and it worked out great. Enjoy the show!

Christmas Jersey Style

We visited my family in New Jersey this weekend. Of course it had to snow the day we left and now our driveway is a frozen sheet of snow 4 inches deep. But our friends took us to see this CRAZY house all lit up. And it was ALL LIT UP, probably enough to see from space! It was below freezing out so I didn't take too many shots as my eyes were freezing over. Check these out:

Let it snow! You could be famous...

Ok, so in 1996 I was on the front page of the Boston Globe! Crazy! I was traipsing around in Scituate during that insane storm taking photos with a disposable camera (maybe the beginning of my career...) And a photographer from the Globe was there and I was the only fool outside so he snapped my picture and the next day I'm on the cover! Here it is: (the story continues)

That is me in a Navy issue hood my uncle gave me. I still have those gloves. So... Melissa and I were in Borders book store and she happened to pick up this book to check out:

And lo and behold there I am on page 8, full page! Of course they don't have my name but they had it in the paper. So my 15 minutes of fame lives on! At least in my head.

Our Christmas Ornaments

Melis always does a crazy good job of putting up the tree and decorating it. This year is no different. Here's a bunch of our ornaments that decorate our fake tree. Just a little something to put you in the holiday spirit if you didn't go to the mall in October to see the Christmas stuff already out on the shelves. Happy Holidays! Merry Christmas!

Kate & Macky - Engagements in Cohasset

It was a little cold. Ok a lot cold. But we managed to keep warm and get some great shots. We strolled around Cohasset common, the center of town and then Cohasset harbor. Look at the smiles on these two! It was like having professional models for an hour. We are looking forward to their wedding at the Red Lion Inn in February! Here are a bunch of our favorites from the shoot:

Milty and his new home

We had a wedding in Milton last week and the center pieces were goldfish bowls. So at the end of the night we were packing up our gear and there sat this lone goldfish in a bowl on top of a piano. I set up our monitor for the "day of photos" slideshow on the piano right next to his bowl so I really couldnt tell if people were crowding around to look at our photos of the wedding or to watch Milty cruise around his bowl. But he was unclaimed at the end of the night and Melis and I decided to adopt him and save him from a possible flushing. Here he is in his new, spacious pad. I think he has Ich but I treated him for it right after I snapped this fisheye shot of him. I've always wanted to take a photo of a fish with a fisheye lens! Long live Milty!
