Melissa & Rob - Engagement photos at Rexhame Beach

Rexhame Beach can be iffy if the weather is not right. Sometimes the mosquitos and no-seeums are out of control and I wind up with a bite right in the middle of my forehead. But not this night! The weather and light were perfect. We had fun with Melissa and Rob and I think it showed. Who knew there would be a piece of plywood with their photo on it near the restrooms?? And Melissa did win the armwrestle.

Ketty & Shaun - Engagement photos in the Boston Public Gardens

Look how bright Ketty's smile is! They even brought some cake from Finale to share and celebrate their engagement! We met Ketty & Shaun in person for the first time at the Public Gardens and they were so easy going and nice. I think it shows in the photos. Oh, and Melis and I also went to Finale after for some crazy good dessert!

Rena & Will - Engagements in Beantown!

The Big Dig paid off!! The corruption and billions of misspent dollars worked in our favor - the parks they created are beautiful and we used some in our shoot! We started out at Rowes Wharf and worked our way over to Faneuil Hall and had fun doing it! Plus where else can you get an engagement photo with Ben Franklin shading you from the sun with an umbrella while you make out? We are very much looking forward to their wedding at the State Room!

Jenn & Shawn - Engagement photos in Brewster Gardens, Plymouth

Or should I say Jenn, Shawn & Pleepleus. We had fun walking, er, waddling (with Melis - due any day now) around downtown Plymouth and Brewster Gardens. Pleepleus rules! Wild monkey - Run!! No - he just made an appearance in some shots. Jenn and Shawn managed to have some fun even without him. Whose idea was it to restore Plymouth Rock in June?? Jenn has never seen it and that's still the case! And that guy on the Harley shot is not photoshopped...

Caitlin & Pat - Engagement photos in the Boston Public Gardens

Privacy was not an option! The Boston Public Gardens were packed - we must have seen at least 10 wedding parties and many more photographers shooting engagements. After seeing that, my goal was to take some unique and different shots. I'd love to see what other photographers came up with at the same time of day in the same place. Caitlin and Pat needed no coaching. Easy to talk to and more than willing to drop a couple of smooches in front of mobs of complete strangers and bronze ducks. Enjoy!

Tammy & John - Engagement photos on the roof of a parking garage??

Who says parking garages do not conjure up notions of love and romance? I think we could have photographed Tammy & John anywhere with the same results - great photos! They were all smiles. John just finished the Fire Academy and he's marrying Tammy - you think he's happy?? This rooftop garden is amazing - nobody goes there. We had the whole place to ourselves after a few stragglers left once they saw the 70-200 come out. Crazy, warm light and smiles - a perfect mix for a photographer!

Victoria & Mike - Engagement photos at the Arnold Arboretum

The sign at the gate had a list of things you couldn't do but it did NOT say "Do not take engagement photos" - so we did!
What a great place to visit! We pretty much walked around the entire park taking photos anywhere we saw color and possibility (and benches...) Victoria and Mike will have some amazing images for the engagement book their guests will get to sign. Look how romantic these two are!

Linda & Eddy - Engagement photos in Onset

The weather was amazing and so was the location! Linda and Eddy took us on a tour of Onset as the sun was setting. We also took some shots on the same beach that their wedding will be on in about a month. They are so easy going and fun - we can't wait for the wedding. In the meantime enjoy some photos from the engagement session.

Keryn & Dan - the engagements

Keryn and Dan had a great idea for their wedding. Most of their families live in the same neighborhood so they wanted to include the street signs in photos and then use them as table numbers at the wedding! Very cool. So we are always looking for unique ideas and we decided to take the photos of the signs with Keryn and Dan in the background doing something different in all the shots. It was tricky - some of those street signs are high! We brought a ladder and actually had to stand it up in the back of our Ridgeline to get high enough. We also went down to the sea wall for some skyline photos. The shots came out great and we had some fun coming up with different ideas. Enjoy some of the shots:

Kate & Macky - Engagements in Cohasset

It was a little cold. Ok a lot cold. But we managed to keep warm and get some great shots. We strolled around Cohasset common, the center of town and then Cohasset harbor. Look at the smiles on these two! It was like having professional models for an hour. We are looking forward to their wedding at the Red Lion Inn in February! Here are a bunch of our favorites from the shoot:

Nicole and Tim - Engagement photos in Boston

We met Nicole and Tim at our studio and we will be photographing their wedding next summer. They are two very nice people. And now that we spent some time with them strolling around Boston we've come to find out that they are not only a great couple but they have a great sense of humor and are very photogenic. No problems coaxing smiles from them! The wedding should be amazing. Here are a few of our favorites. Comments welcome. Enjoy!

Carrie & Mike - Blue Hills engagement photos

Exercise and work at the same time! Carrie and Mike are both Ski Instructors at Wildcat so of course we took some engagement photos at New England's PREMIER ski resort - Blue Hills Reservation. Actually it was a very cool place to shoot. Great views of Boston, a ski lift, a tower, a bridge, a pond and plenty of color! We had some fun with it and we had a great time hanging with Carrie and Mike before their wedding in December! Here are some of our favorites. Enjoy!

Kate and Brendan's engagement!

What took me so long to blog this?? No clue. But here it is! Easily my favorite engagement session ever. How can you beat bridge jumping into the North River in Marshfield?? These guys are an awesome couple. Melissa and I can't wait for their wedding. Summer is ending so I thought this post would extend it some more...

Emily & Bo engagements

We met Emily & Bo the same day we shot their engagements. And we lucked out - they were super nice and very down to earth. They were also pretty agile rock climbers. We got some great shots before the sun went down in Scituate. We managed to get Daisy the new puppy into some of the shots also! Here are a few favorites:

Jennifer & Jake - Engagements in Sandwich

Another perfect night for photos! Jennifer & Jake introduced us to the Sandwich boardwalk which is my new favorite place. It's this long boardwalk with no railing that leads to the beach and goes over the marsh/river. There is a bridge over the deeper part and it's such a cool location. I'll be jumping off it sometime this summer for sure. They also purchased a custom plank on the boardwalk with the phrase you'll see in some photos. A very cool idea and perfect for engagements. They are in love and the boardwalk says so! They are quite a nice couple and we had a great time with them.
