Linda & Eddy - A beach wedding in Onset and a reception at the Beachmoor

Perfect, perfect, perfect. This didn't even feel like we were working. Linda, Eddy and their family & friends are some of the nicest people we have ever met. You can sometimes judge a family's love by counting how many people cry at the wedding. We lost count. From the amazing beach front house in Onset to the water front Beachmoor restaurant and the amazing weather all day - you couldn't have planned a more perfect day. We had our fantastic second shooter, Kelly Hike, with us again. And the gift Eddy and Linda gave us deserves it's own blog post but for now enjoy the slideshow...

a boy and a girl

Do these 2 photos not sum up what being a boy and being a girl is?? I took them both this past weekend. The first one is Charlie from a family shoot at World's End in Hingham. He's sticking his tongue out at his off-camera brother and sister - classic! The second one is from a wedding in Onset. During sunset shots of the bride & groom some family members followed us down to the water and I was able to grab this shot of the little girl. When I saw it while editing it stopped me in my tracks. I was so lucky to catch this frame at the right moment - it just says little girl perfectly to me. Maybe because we are going to have a little girl in June and someday I wish to take a photo of her just like this.

Memorial Day 2008

I am home sitting here blogging safe and sound. I am thankful for the men & women who have served and protected this country throughout history and especially during World War II. I thought I'd post some images I captured in Washington DC and France to help honor those who haved served and are serving. The first one is Omaha Beach - Normandy, France. It's unreal to think about what happened there on June 06, 1944 and how peaceful it was in 2005 when I took that photo.

Caitlin & Pat - Engagement photos in the Boston Public Gardens

Privacy was not an option! The Boston Public Gardens were packed - we must have seen at least 10 wedding parties and many more photographers shooting engagements. After seeing that, my goal was to take some unique and different shots. I'd love to see what other photographers came up with at the same time of day in the same place. Caitlin and Pat needed no coaching. Easy to talk to and more than willing to drop a couple of smooches in front of mobs of complete strangers and bronze ducks. Enjoy!

Gibson Les Paul Guitar - Jimmy Wallace Model

I love when opportunities like these come along! I was commissioned to photograph a rare guitar as a gift for the owner. This guitar was beautiful and I wanted to treat it like a work of art and capture the color and curves of the woodwork. We had about an hour to work at their home before the husband came home from work. It was going to be a surprise gift and the last thing I wanted was for him to walk in the house to see some stranger going all Johnny B. Goode with his prized possession. I used some window light and available light with some w i d e apertures.
Deep down Louisiana close to New Orleans...

Graduation!

We have officially graduated from child birth class! Here is the diploma to prove it! With this piece of paper we are ready for anything parenting can throw at us. I know our little girl needs to be wiped front to back, melis knows how to candle breathe (which solves everything), and all we need to do is sleep when she sleeps - we should be all set. And here are our versions of some maternity shots. We went on a little tour of some of our favorite places so our little girl has a record of it!

Tammy & John - Engagement photos on the roof of a parking garage??

Who says parking garages do not conjure up notions of love and romance? I think we could have photographed Tammy & John anywhere with the same results - great photos! They were all smiles. John just finished the Fire Academy and he's marrying Tammy - you think he's happy?? This rooftop garden is amazing - nobody goes there. We had the whole place to ourselves after a few stragglers left once they saw the 70-200 come out. Crazy, warm light and smiles - a perfect mix for a photographer!

Victoria & Mike - Engagement photos at the Arnold Arboretum

The sign at the gate had a list of things you couldn't do but it did NOT say "Do not take engagement photos" - so we did!
What a great place to visit! We pretty much walked around the entire park taking photos anywhere we saw color and possibility (and benches...) Victoria and Mike will have some amazing images for the engagement book their guests will get to sign. Look how romantic these two are!
